Grazer Linuxtage 2026
GLT26 Call for Participation (CfP)
Dear GLT friends,
we are back! In April, the next Grazer Linuxtage will take place in the usual format: On Friday we offer workshops and on Saturday, there will be talks and info booths on the TU Graz Inffeld campus. This two-day event is meant to support the community in developing and using free/open source software and open hardware platforms.
At Grazer Linuxtage, we are interested in all kinds of topics related to FLOSS / open hardware. This is your chance to submit interesting topics you want to present! We have seen a lot of success with topics like the OpenDocument standard (LibreOffice and others), Raspberry Pi as programming and automation environment, administration and security of systems, modern command line tools like fzf, or open source community management. However, the range of topics that the community is interested in is of course way broader!
- Talks can take 25 or 45 minutes. Please note that this time also includes potential questions from the audience, so please stay a bit below that.
- Workshops can take longer. We offer some time ranges as a guideline, but feel free to propose the time you expect to need in the notes for the organizers. We surely want to support our lecturers where possible.
- Info booths last the whole day on Saturday. This is your chance to present your community to the large audience at Grazer Linuxtage.
- Attempt: We would like to try out to have a small number of info booths already on Friday in the afternoon. In case you are interested in that, please contact us!
- Finally, we have a session of Lightning Talks on Saturday. You may submit your Lightning Talk here, or you can just do that spontaneously at the event.
We do not want to restrict you in your choice of topics. But if you need some inspiration, you can find it here.
Language: We accept proposals in German and in English. We only require you to stay consistent - don't talk in German if your slides are English.
License: Summary, description, slides and a video of your talk will be published. We hence need you to publish your work at least with Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International.
We will assume that you are fine with this licence, please contact us otherwise.
Compensation: The entire event is being organised by volunteers and expenses are covered with partnerships. That's why we cannot offer payment for your participation. Thank you for your understanding.
Social Event. We will celebrate the event together on Saturday evening and you are cordially invited. The location has not be arranged yet, we will let you know shortly before the event.
Due to the number of proposals we tend to accept only one submission per person, but don't hesitate to make several proposals. We will pick what we think fits best in combination with submissions from other participants.
The CfP is now open! We plan to announce accepted submissions about a month before the event. We would like to thank all contributors since you make this event possible!
Styrian greetings from the GLT orga team
You can enter proposals until 2026-01-31 23:59 (Europe/Vienna), 3 months, 3 weeks from now.
